Pink and blue DS for Europe
Nintendo have announced that the standard silver DS will be joined by pink and blue units during October.
Both already available in Japan with the blue DS also available in the US, this is timed to coincide with the European release of Nintendogs.
Immensely popular in Japan, the pet simulator Nintendogs is set to launch an assault on the Christmas charts all over Europe.
Nintendo’s senior director of European marketing, Jim Merrick said
“Since launching Nintendo DS in Europe on 11th March 2005, over 1 million people across Europe have embraced this new way to play games,”
With three new colour choices now available and the launch of the groundbreaking Nintendogs in time for Christmas, we will continue to expand the handheld market and will be well on track to achieving sales of over 3 million Nintendo DS across Europe by the end of this year.”
Expect to see the new coloured units retailing at the same price as the standard silver model though keep an eye out for special promotional offers.
