Mario Kart boost for Japanese DS sales
In the week that the XBOX 360 was launched , strong sales have kept the Nintendo DS at the number one spot as the top selling console in Japan. Sales of 299,000 units, thats more than three times the number of PSPs sold in the same week have strengthened the Nintendo’s position as the most popular hand held console in Japan.
Much of the massive jump in sales can be attributed to the launch of Mario Kart, which shifted 219,000 units.
