Nintendo DS Games & News - DS Lite

Nintendo President Satoru Iwata has announced that a slimline version of the DS, the Nintendo DS Lite will be released in Japan this year. This confirms the rumours that have been all over the Internet in the past few months that a redesign of the DS was coming in 2006.

20% lighter and only two thirds the size of the current Nintendo DS the new model features higher quality screens with brightness controls and will keep the ability to play Game Boy Advance games.

Due to become available in Japan only this coming March the DS Lite will be available in 3 colours though the only image released so far is of a white case.
