Namco have announced that Dig Dug Digging Strike is to be released for the Nintendo DS this spring.

The familiar digging action is combined with a 3D environments to explore along with new enemies, weapons and mini-games to bring the popular title up to date.

Some familiar faces to Dig Dug players are back, Pooka and Fygar, along side some new enemies. Players can explore an outside 3D environments in the top screen and then plunge down to the touch screen and get digging to trap your enemies.

“Dig Dug Digging Strike is more than a tribute to the 1982 classic drilling action game,”

“This new installment in the franchise optimises the dual-screen action of the Nintendo DS to deliver the most thrilling and entertaining Dig Dug adventure to date.”
