Age Of Empires coming to Nintendo DS
Majesco Entertainment have announced that Age Of Empires : Age of Kings, one of the biggest selling PC games of all time, will be coming to the Nintendo DS this year.
“Age of Empires has set the gold standard for real-time strategy games and its global audience continues to grow,” said Ken Gold, vice president of Marketing for Majesco. “Our portable version provides an exceptional game experience by taking advantage of the new DS features, and we are excited to have such a high-profile and well-regarded property spearhead our DS lineup for the back-half of 2005.”
Age Of Empires for the Nintendo DS will be a turn based strategy game, unlike the real time action of the PC original. However like the original players of the DS version will be able to command a variety of unit types, build and upgrade buildings and research new technologies. In addition to this each player can control 2 “hero” units such as Richard the Lionheart, Robin Hood, Joan of Arc and Genghis Khan.
Five civilizations are represented : Britons, Franks, Mongols, Saracens, and Japanese.
New to the Nintendo DS version is a “combat advisor” who can give you strategy and battle advice. Up to four players can connect wirelessly to compete against each other and by gaining points players can get access to new maps and units
Age Of Empires : The Age Of Kings is scheduled for release in late 2005
